Esports Wales: The History of Esports
A whirlwind history of Esports and competitive gaming!
Cloth Cat was commissioned by John Jackson, director of Esports Wales, to help expand their social media content with mascot designs, animated gifs and a 90 second dive into the history of competitive gaming.
Cloth Cat Managing Director Jon Rennie worked with John to write a condensed version of the larger history in the Esports Wales literature, focusing on key events and visual moments. Cloth Cat Head of Animation Development Tom Lucas drew up a storyboard which was then timed to a temp recording of the script.
John and Jon then did a recording session with gamer, streamer and influencer RageDarling who leant her voice as the narrator.
Final designs and animation were completed by Tom and Jon at the Cloth Cat Studio, with animation in Moho and After Effects.
It was great fun to work with John and Rage on a new chapter of sports and gaming in Wales!
