Grad Shows 2014 – University of South Wales

As we enter a busy period for graduating animators around the UK, Cloth Cat Animation are hitting the road to view this year’s fresh batch of graduate films. If you spot us come over and say hello, we love to meet budding animation stars.

Over the next few weeks we will be writing up some of our favourite work from the shows and introducing some of the lovely and talented people we meet on our travels.

Sandwiches packed, first stop…oh a mere two and a half miles down the road, it’s the University of South Wales.

As proud principal sponsors of its twentieth anniversary show, Cloth Cat Animation attended the Glammies 2014 in force. Bringing together the films from the various courses run by the University of South Wales, there was a wealth of talent on display with some particularly good short films and showreels.

As sponsors, we were asked to judge ‘Best 3rd Year Film’. We chose ‘Poachers From Outer Space’ by Jack D Evans as our official winner.

Other highlights were: ‘Games Art Reel’ by Tomos Evans

The somewhat ludicrous ‘It’s Just a Film’ by James Nutting

A final nod to the stings between categories too, they were enjoyed by the audience. Well done all, some really impressive work.
